No, don’t laugh at me
laugh with me
throw rice in my path
blessing the paving stones
beneath my feet
A crowd will crow
chimes soaring in greeting,
seeds eaten on the wing
will fall
Share with me your joy
eat your suffering
the rice you save
will spoil on the morrow
